Scrap Inspiration Challenge #24

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Ellen (aka EllenT ). Let’s get to know a little bit more about her today!

The Girl:

EllenT

I am 53, been married for 26 yrs and both my husband & I have always lived in Louisville, KY.  I have one college age son, Scott, and we also have a dog named Jackson.   I come from a large family (8 siblings) so I also use pictures of my nieces & nephews in many of my pages.  I started scrapbooking when my son was in 2nd grade, about 15 years ago.  I joined the PTA and for the next 11 years I was the Historian.  Each year I made a scrapbook for the school.  I won several blue ribbons at the state compititions.  Back then, I was a hybrid scrapper, using Creative Keepsakes’ Creative Clips software to print out journaling blocks.  Six years ago, I went totally digital and never looked back.  I used several editions of PSE before I got PS CS4 last year.  I taught myself how to use it and started to make pages for forum challenges.  Then last August I applied for the CT position at Ninth&Bloom and got it!  I love the designers I have now & always try my best when creating pages for them.

Besides scrapping this summer, for 5 weeks I will be teaching at a summer camp for kids.  I love it because I get to take pictures of little kiddos doing all kinds of fun activities.  And I usually have my class make a scrapbook with the pictures I take of them.   I also like to watch TV.  Lots of TV!  Some of my favorites are Grey’s, Private Practice, Parenthood, 2 Broke Girls, Whitney, New Girl, Amazing Race and Survivor.  I absolutely love DWTS and SYTYCD!

The Story:

About Me by EllenT

Scrap Inspiration Challenge 20

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Erika (aka DoodleBop ). Let’s get to know a little bit more about her today!

The Girl:

I am a 36 year old Mom from North Carolina. I love all things pink and girly. I am obsessed with True Blood and pretty much anything with vampires. My two boys are the light of my life. Noah, who is 10, is so smart and just an all around sweet boy. Gavin, who is 5, is sunny, funny, and full of life. They are who I tend to scrap most of the time because they are my heart.

A long time ago I tried paper scrapping, but I was young and inexperienced. A few years ago I was introduced to digiscrapping and I have not looked back since. I love it and it provides a great creative outlet for me. Even though I have been doing it now for a few years I have just really found myself recently and love the pages that I make even more. In my “spare” time (and I use that phrase loosely) I love to read, listen to music, watch movies or tv, and just spend loads of time with my boys.

The Story:

Here is the layout that Erika created for us using Summer Morning.

Summertime by DoodleBop

I love how the whole paper is being used from corner to corner, and all the little details (those stamps, anyone! Love!). Just beautiful!

Today’s challenge is simple:

Take this layout, find something you love about it and scraplift it!

Use whatever kit or collection you like. There are no other requirements for this challenge.

Scrap Inspiration Challenge 19

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Tanyia (aka, tanyiadeskins). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Tanyia today!

The Girl:

I am a 37 yr old stay at home mommy of three girls. They are 19, 14, and 10. I have been with my high school sweetheart for 21 years now but married for 14. We tend to move around a lot for his job, but right now we live in Central Florida, which is where we are actually from. We also have 2 furbabies, a doggie named Ginger – who acts kinda like a cat, and a cat named Riley – who plays fetch like a doggie! Go figure!

I have been digi scrapping for about five years now and have finally fallen into a place where I am really happy with what I am creating! Besides being a CT junkie for my favorite designers I also love to read, watch movies, do crafts, quilt, act like a silly goof ball with my kids, shop, cook, and bake! I may have a purse obsession as well! lol

The Story:

Here is the layout that Tanyia created for us using Roots and Wings.

Grow With Love by tanyiadeskins

Tanyia never ceases to amaze me with her fabulous pages, and this is no exception. With clustering coming from every edge of the paper, it’s a thing of beauty!

Today’s challenge is simple:

Take this layout, find something you love about it and scraplift it!

Use whatever kit or collection you like. There are no other requirements for this challenge.

Scrap Inspiration Challenge 18

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Jennifer (aka, NeverendingJen). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Jenn today!

The Girl:

My name is Jennifer Merkley, known as NeverendingJen throughout most of the digi world. I’m a military spouse and lucky enough to travel and live in some amazing places thanks to the US Army. Currently I live near Savannah, GA, but that’s all about to change this fall. I work from home, helping to design and test apps for Android tablets, and it’s quickly become clear that this is my dream job. I’m an avid reader, I love to bake, and I’m a definite craftaholic.

I’ve been digital scrapbooking since the summer of 2007, when I first got PSP in order to edit my wedding photos further and add fun graphics to them. While trying to figure out my software, I found tutorials and freebies for digiscrapping, and I have been hooked since then. I was never a full blown paper scrapper, as the lack of perfection always made me so frustrated. Digi and Hybrid are perfect for me- I get to work with my hands, but I can also have that ever wonderful undo button. My style has evolved so much over the years, but I am a very paper-centric scrapper. I love patterned paper, and joke that I am allergic to solids. Clean and simple, heavily layered, blocks and shapes, I scrap all of those styles, but the important thing is to let our story shine through. I scrap to preserve our story, in hopes that future generations will be able to know us better and be able to know who we were at each stage in our lives.

The Story:

Here is the layout that Jenn created for us using Roots and Wings.

Love Works by NeverendingJen

If you love blocking like I do, then this layout must me making you drool, too! I love the use of all the patterned papers and the way the journaling is presented. What a great page!

Your Challenge:

Today’s challenge is simple:

Take this layout, find something you love about it and scraplift it!

Use whatever kit or collection you like. There are no other requirements for this challenge.

However, if you would like to earn points toward free products, this challenge does qualify for Chicky Points. (See the Challenges Forum for more details.)

And when you’re done, come back here, link us up and show us your story. You could be featured in next week’s post!

I hope you will join us this week! I look forward to seeing what you create.

Scrap Inspiration: Challenge 17

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Cynthia (a/k/a MrsPeel). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Cynthia today!

The Girl:

My name is Cynthia, Mrs. Peel out there in digi land (from The Avengers, an old 60′s British TV show in black & white I grew up with). I’m a Brazilian living in London, UK, now for over 20 years.
I had many professions… I was in the musical theatre/music industry and as in my time we didn’t have net or home recording studios like Macs have now. I had to do different things when I had no music jobs, but can say proudly that spent 30 years on stage, was also a beautician, a tour guide in Rio, a health advocate, & worked for the Metropolitan Police, Immigrations and Customs & Excise here in the UK, amongst other jobs.
I am now retired, had to retire early because of some gone wrong operations in 2003, have a LOT of health conditions which I am battling every day and Scrapbooking is my main pain relief therapy.

I’m a scrapaholic, totally addicted, and my main subject is my (gorgeous!!!!!even if I’m biased!LOL) 16 years old daughter Sarita. Our books are a kind of mixture of Project 52 weeks, 365, no rules, just scrapping events and daily life for her to have in the future. I know I am so thankful my mum kept so many photos…but at times she doesn’t know who the people in the photos are/were, or what was going on…and there is where I see the difference from albums to scrapbooking. My pages almost 99% of the time have journaling (or so many photos you get what is going on LOL). I love almost any style of digi scrapping, but prefer the imitating paper style. If I look at my page and feel I can touch the elements, then that makes my heart sing!

The Story:

Here is the layout that Cynthia created for us using Roots and Wings. Cynthia created a 2-page Layout, because that’s what she’s most comfortable creating. Feel free to lift either side, or if you’re feeling especially adventurous, go ahead and do the 2-pager!

I love how Cynthia scraps everyday life and fits so many photos beautifully on the page. The two pages match up so amazingly, too!

Scrap Inspiration : Challenge 16

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Kendall (a/k/a kendallt). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Kendall today!

The Girl:

I am a 20-something mom from South Carolina who is addicted to polka dots, cupcakes, and all things Disney-related. I live with my gorgeous, amazing daughter, Logan, who is the star of most of my layouts and the love of my life. Until recently, I worked in marketing and public relations for a local college. Last May, I quit my job to work from home part-time as a Disney-authorized travel agent and have been focusing on that ever since.

I was never much of a paper scrapper, and when I discovered digi in late 2009, my life changed forever! I am so happy to have found a passion and hobby that allows me to leave a lasting legacy for my family. I hope that one day, my daughter will enjoy looking back on all the pages I’ve created and can share those memories with her own children. In my “spare” time, I enjoy volunteer work, photography, reading, music, and of course, travel.

The Story:

Here is the layout that Kendall created for us using A New Me:

I love how Kendall used a picture of herself and varied the sizes. Her journaling is awesome, too! Such a beautiful page!

Your Challenge:

Today’s challenge is simple:

Take this layout, find something you love about it and scraplift it!

Use whatever kit or collection you like. There are no other requirements for this challenge.

Scrap Inspiration : Challenge 15

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Amy (a/k/a amymom24). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Amy today!

The Girl:

My name is Amy Hoogstad and I’m from the great white north – Ontario, Canada. I am a Christian, wife to my best friend (and ever thankful for it!), mother of three, photographer, crafter, internet lover, violinist, and digiscrapping addict! I am a work-at-home-mom, and although I am always trying to find balance, I enjoy it immensely and wouldn’t have it any other way.

I used to be a paper scrapper, and after completing several albums, I gave birth to twins in 2006. Paper scrapping was put on hold for quite some time, although memory keeping has always been important to me. To fill the gap, I’ve kept a blog and taken a zillion photos. It was Nicole Seitler that introduced me to digital scrapbooking through her paper crafting blog, and after receiving PSE for my birthday in 2007, I decided to give it a try in January 2008. I picked it up quickly and was in love. Hitting a save button and closing up my page versus keeping little hands away from my carefully crafted pages and supplies? A no brainer! My style is always developing and each page I create is a love letter to my family. Digiscrapping fits perfectly with my desire to leave a large, creative legacy for my family to enjoy for years to come.

The Story:

Here is the layout that Amy created for us using A New Me:

I love the layers and layers of things on Amy’s page. I also love how she used frames as journaling spots! How creative.

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Debra (a/k/a 4noisyboys). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Debra today!

The Girl:

My name is Debra Scheele, and I’m a Californian through and through. I’ve lived a few other states over the years, but I’m happy to be home. I live in southern California now with my husband of thirty years, three of our four sons, and three kitties that are very spoiled! My oldest is actually planning on moving back home from Texas with us in July for a short period of time, and he’ll be bringing his dog. We’ll have a houseful for sure!

I’ve been digitally scrapping since 2006 and love the creative outlet it gives me without having to make any messes. I’ve been collecting some physical supplies lately and hope to do some hybrid projects soon too. I love to read, and I love to get out and go walking. I’ve recently learned how to work my camera on manual, so I hope to practice that a lot this year and get very comfortable with it.

The Story:

Here is the layout that Debra created for us using A New Me:

Hexagons are all the rage! They look so pretty here! And I love her beautiful clustering work, too!

Your Challenge:

Today’s challenge is simple:

Take this layout, find something you love about it and scraplift it!

Use whatever kit or collection you like. There are no other requirements for this challenge.

Scrap Inspiration : Challenge 13

It’s time for a little Saturday Inspiration today on Tell Your Story Every Day!

Each Saturday we invite friends from all over our community to scrap a beautiful and meaningful layout for your viewing pleasure.

Our guest today is the talented Alice (a/k/a fa11enan9e1). Let’s get to know a little bit more about Alice today!

The Girl:

My name is Alice and I am currently a senior (eek!) in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. I am also part of the Stanford Solar Car Project, so there is a lot of engineering in my life.

When I was little I wanted to be an artist, but I quickly learned that I am crafty, not creative! Luckily that makes scrapbooking perfect for me. I started scrapping in February of 2008, which means I have been scrapping for four years now! Scrapping also lead me to my other creative outlet, photography. I also absolutely love cooking and baking. This is the first year I am not living in a dorm, so I have been having a blast cooking for myself. I’ll admit that I have far too many cooking blogs in my Google Reader!

The Story:

Here is the layout that Alice created for us using A New Me:

I just love how Alice made her journaling wrap around the rest of her page. There’s a lot of journaling here, yet it feels very artistic and not distracting! I think it’s gorgeous.

Happy scrapping!
