Journaling Challenge 9: Friendships & Challenges

I don’t know about you… but I’ve always felt like the outsider in life.

The first day of Kindergarten was great! I made two best friends on the same day. I thought the rest of my school days were going to be awesome!

But then I went to a different school the next year. And then I started to change schools a lot as I moved between living with my mom and living with my dad. The worst was in high school, when I entered a new (very snobby!) school in the 10th grade.

So, yeah. I feel like I’ve gone through life as a loner.

I like to meet new people and get together with friends! I’m not anti-social. But I can count the good friends in my life on one hand. Thankfully, I am part of a big on-line community where I feel like I have dozens of good friends! The internet rocks.

This Week’s Challenge

This week’s challenge is to write about the yucky stuff, the challenges you’ve faced in finding and keeping friends. Tell your story, whatever it is! All the experiences you’ve had up until now have shaped you in to who you are today. How have these specific experiences changed you? How have they affected your response to new situations? That’s what we’re mulling over this week!

Write a few paragraphs about your first friendship. When you are finished, come back and let us know what you’ve done! If you’ve blogged, you can link us up. If you’ve journaled on paper, take a quick picture. Whatever you decide to do, we’d love to have you come and share it with us!
