Nicole - I loe everything you have said and totally agree with everyone about the costs to print out papers. I make my pages in 12 x 12 then convert them to 8 x 8 and print them out myself. I have also done two books at Arts Cow (artscow.com) that came out really well. They were something like $8.00 with free shipping and shipping from Taiwan (?) is very expensive. Try them, you will like them! Also I have a request - I have some trouble with my eyes that are 64 years old, and I was wondering if you could please use black ink in the future to print this blog. This gray is really hard for me to make out all of the letters, thus hard to read! Thank you for considering this request. And keep talking about everything digi, this is wonderful!

Great post Nicole! I too am guilty of not getting my story out. My problem is a tad different from those posted however. I became a digital scrapbooker in 2008, visit The Digichick weekly and love to shop! Therein lies my problem. I am too busy shopping, downloading, unzipping and organizing my purchases to even scrap let alone journal. I have no problem journaling, just very little time to scrap as I am too busy organizing my files. What a dilemma huh!?! Is there a 12-step program for those of us who haven't met a digi sale they can't pass by? Still, digital scrapping is totally awesome and the best thing to happen to my scrapbooking life. I only hope more scrappers realize the versatility and go beyond the printed/bound books and get a little more adventurous. It's a whole new world people!

This is a wonderful initiative, Nicole! I took a 6 months break from scrapbooking earlier this year and came back with a renewed vision on my scrapbooking and it's exactly what you're describing in this post. I don't allow myself to get side tracked anymore. I scrap for my kids. I want them to remember all these precious memories when they're adults. I journal on every page and I will ALWAYS try to use a kit in function of my photos and not the other way around anymore, not even with CT kits. After 6 years as a digiscrapper, I'm very excited that for the first time I will be caught up with scrapping an entire year of events, feelings, thoughts and soon I will have all those (meaningful!) layouts in a fancy photobook. And it feels so good! I don't care anymore about what the latest new trends are, I am determined to keep focussing on what is important for ME. And it took me 6 years to get to this point! Isn't that ashame! I will be following this blog with great interest, Nicole and I always enjoy your writing style :)

WOW... there must be something in the air, this post sums up exactly where I am with my scrapping. I'm guilty of no or very little journaling, I'm guilty of pages on the computer only but... my aim this year is to document our life everyday or at least weekly and get the stories of our life down in words and the pages printed into books. Nicole, I don't think you could have picked a better time for me (grin) to start this so thank you!

I totally agree with you and I'm a journaling addicted, it's very hard for me to create a page and not tell a story. The worst part for me has been printing, because here in my city I haven't found a great print service. I'm willing to use some online services, however I'm not comfortable with them yet. Any suggestions?

I'll bookmark this blog because I want to look for motivation to keep on my goal of printing and setting albums, no more digital files only for 2012.

Thanks so much, you're always so amazing!

So glad to see you doing this, Nicole. You know how much journaling means to me and that's is my favorite part of scrapbooking. I can't tell you how frustrated I've been looking at people's pages with no journaling. I WANT to hear people's stories, not just look at their pretty pictures. :)

Yes! Who cares if what you use isn't "name brand"--it doesn't have to be name brand to be beautiful. Go, you! :D
