Saturday Inspiration : Challenge 1
Hello and Happy Saturday to you!
Saturdays around here are going to be days reserved for inspiration. We will be inviting friends from all over our community to scrap beautiful and meaningful layouts for your viewing pleasure!
Our first guest of the year is my good friend, Crystal (a/k/a Crystalbella77). I have known Crystal since January 2008, when she applied for my creative team. I have watched her style grow and evolve into what it is today—I think she makes the most gorgeous pages! I often go to her gallery to find inspiration. So, it’s an honor to have her here today as our first guest.
The Girl:
Hello all! My name is Crystal and I am a SAHM/WAHM mommy of three! I married my HS sweetheart, Garret, nearly 10 years ago and we have been blessed with 3 awesome kiddos. We have Gabriel who is 8 in March, Ezra who will be 6 in May and our baby girl Stella who will be 4 in April. We have added 2 cats and a dog in the last year and I quickly found that I am not a pet person as much as I want to be! The kids love them though and that’s what matters!
We live in rural IN and my heart lives at the beach where one day I so hope we can be for good. Snow and ice and I are not friends!! The one good thing about here is that we are so close to almost all of our family which is so special for all of and for the kids especially.
I started scrapbooking when I was pregnant with Stella and never looked back. I started doing all digi and never had touched paper so it was all very new to me! It took me a bit to get a groove and find my style and now I am so excited to be able to offer templates based on my own pages for everyone to have a foundation for their own storytelling. Storytelling and capturing memories is what is important to me and it’s such a blessing to me to be able to share my passion with all of you and hopefully help inspire you!
Crystal has recently started a wonderful new site called Live Your Stories where she offers her templates via a subscription. Be sure to check it out—Crystal templates are wonderful!
The Story:
Here is the layout that Crystal has created for us, using The Daily Details collab:

I love the contrast between the grey and the red on her layout here—the red just pops off the page! And I love her composition, with the rectangles with the circle. There are pretty patterned papers here, but the focus is really on the photos—nothing detracts from them. Everything is harmonious. Such a beautiful page!
Your Challenge:
Today’s challenge is simple: Take this layout, find something you love about it and scraplift it!
Use whatever kit or collection you like. There are no other requirements for this challenge.
And when you’re done, come back here, link us up and show us your story. You could be featured in next week’s post!
Happy Scrapping!

Report comment Report commentGreat inspiration! It’s been a very long time since I have done a layout. Thank you for helping me get back to scrapping. Here’s my scraplift: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46513491@N05/6657667469/in/photostream
Report comment Report commentChrisA – I love that you incorporated the text stream into your layout. What a great way to tell a story.
Report comment Report commentLeslie, thank you (tried using the reply and for some reason, it won’t let me use it). I used the text stream because my son (age 19) “doesn’t like his picture taken anymore. I have to document the story somehow (LOL)!
Report comment Report commentDuh, looks like it worked fine.
Report comment Report commentI’m very excited about this project. Here’s my first go at it:

Yay! Congratulations Nicole and Crystal for just being awesome! I loved reading this!!
Report comment Report commentI had a go too! I loved the mostly monotone look of this page, and I think I might be using black and white photos more often as a result of trying this! thanks, and here’s my link
